The studio experience

Two labs. One

Every week your child attends both a Reading Lab and a Writing Lab — each 45 minutes, each with a distinct purpose that feeds the other.

Deep comprehension work anchored to rich, knowledge-building passages. Children don't just read — they analyse, infer and interrogate text. As knowledge grows, so does the quality and depth of everything they write.

Structured writing sessions that move from sentence to paragraph to argument. Literary devices, register, precision and structure — taught systematically so children have the tools to turn their knowledge into powerful, purposeful writing.

Progress & Reporting

Two assessment points.
Full transparency, every time.

At Week 6 and Week 12, every child completes a formal Big Write assessment — an independent piece of extended writing that draws on everything learned in the studio so far. Within a week of each assessment, parents receive a comprehensive written report.

Week 6
Mid-term Assessment

Halfway through the programme, your child completes their first Big Write. The report that follows gives you a clear picture of progress made, skills developing and where to focus for the second half of the term.

End-of-Term Assessment
